Surfing in Portugal
When I arrived in Portugal in 2014 my experience with surfing was limited to what I’d seen while living in Brazil! I quickly realized that moving to Ericeira meant that I was surrounded by surfers all the time, since it’s the only World Surf Reserve in Europe!
Although I never did become a surfer, my partner was a surfer and my little boy took to it like a fish to water. I quickly learned about the best surf schools, where to rent a board and had to learn how to deal with a house full of sand and wet equipment!
Here are a few of the many tips I’ve learnt over the years about surfing in Ericeira, and the best waves in Portugal.
